A gaming cloth comprises a cloth with a playing surface ( 10 ) having a design ( 12 ) printed thereon. At least 30% of the area of the playing surface is printed with a camouflage design ( 14 ) as defined by the function DeltaE₂1, where DeltaE₁, is a measure of the complexity of the design, DeltaE₂ is a measure of the similarity of the colour contrast of the design with respect to the base colour and k is a constant with a value in the range 0 to 5.
