The cover (1), for the guides (2) of a movable part (3) of a machine-tool, has a series of rigid plates (4a,4b), one above the other, and movable in relation to each other parallel to the guides. Driving components (5,9) on the plates cause the plates to move when the first plate is moved by the movable part. One or more dogs (5) are mounted on the first plate, which is moved in a direction (7) at right angles to the second plate. The second plate has faces (9) against which the dog acts, and which are situated in different positions along the guides. They are thus engaged by the dog at different times, so that the plates are pulled along the guides in succession. The dog can consist of a pin fixed to the first plate, while the faces are formed by walls of pin-receiving slots (11) in the second plates. |
