An exercise aid device, comprising a hip part supporting member movable relative to a base, foot resting parts movable relative to the base, a drive means driving the hip part supporting member, a constitution estimating part estimating at least one of the amount of the fat and the amount of the muscles of a user, and a control part controlling the drive means. The control part controls the drive means so that loads on the thigh parts of the user on the hip part supporting member vary according to the change of the positions of the toes of the user relative to the positions of the greater trochanters of the user, the change of the positions can be limited to the stretching directions of the knee joints of the user, and an angle between the knee joints can be maintained approximately constant. Also, the control part controls the drive means by using an output from the constitution estimating part to provide an exercise acting less burden on the knee joints of the user with a strength suitable for the user.
