346,365. Spray carburetters. GENETY, L. M. F., 4, Rue de l'Isly, Paris. Jan. 3, 1930, No. 344. Convention date, Jan. 5, 1929. [Class 7 (iii).] Exhaust gases from an engine 4 from a point beyond the silencer 7, are admitted to the air inlet of a carburetter 3 by a pipe 1 provided at its ends 2, 5 with perforated diaphragms 8, 9. The point at which the gases are tapped, and the bores of the diaphragms, are so chosen that the temperature of the gases is lowered, but not beyond that at which the contained steam would condense. Cooling may be effected by gills or radiators on the exhaust pipe. Specifications 128,987 and 158,789, [both in Class 7 (iii), Internalcombustion engines, Carburetting - apparatus &c. for], are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that the proportion of exhaust gases admitted may be controlled by a valve actuated by hand or by barometric pressure, but this statement does not occur in the Specification as accepted. |
