Two holders are provided with openings (36) for receiving and fixing a side wall region or end of a hollow organ (32). Suction openings are connected to a partial vacuum source. The openings have the same contour on each side of the holder. Guides for a connecting member are provided at the edges of the opening. The holders are placed together so that the openings can form a sewn connection. An Independent claim is included for a needle for forming a seam.
