A program recording apparatus and a program recording method which are preferably used for an apparatus which is installed, for example, with a hard disk and carries out a recording of a broadcast program are proposed. In step [1], a process for searching and reservation-setting is executed and in step [2], a program set with a process of "baseball extension" is searched. Further in step [3], it is judged with respect to the program start time whether or not it is a reservation possible for a "baseball extension" process. Also, it is judged in step [4] whether or not there is a program corresponding to "sport: baseball" in the corresponding broadcast station within the electric program table. Further instep [5], it is judged whether or not a word "extension" is included in the character strings constituting the electric program table. Then, it is judged in step [6] whether or not characters constituting "hour and/or minute" are included in the character strings constituting the electric program table, and in step [7], an automatic calculation of the finish time is performed. Further, the finish time of the program to which "baseball extension" process after responding to the extension is set is calculated so as to carry out the change of the set finish time. In this manner, it is easily possible to dissolve a fear that a situation where an ending portion of the desired program is not recorded may occur. |
