A template 14 for cutting elongate workpieces comprising a sleeve 12 to fit over a workpiece 10 and means for fixing the sleeve to any position along the workpiece, the sleeve having at least one transverse guide slot 16,18,19 for guiding a cutting tool through the workpiece. Preferably, the template is of square or rectangular cross section. The template may have a guide slots at both right angles and acute angles to the longitudinal direction of the sleeve. The template may be made of a sheet of galvanised steel, and the means for fixing the workpiece may comprise a screw 20 passing though a threaded aperture in a wall of the sleeve. |
