A new polypeptide prepared from produced from a human adult brain tissue, a cell line derived from a human brain tissue, a cell line derived from human bone marrow, and an endothelial cell line of vein derived from human umbilical cord and a process for preparation thereof; a cDNA encoding the polypeptide; a fragment selectively hybridizing with the sequence of the cDNA; a replication or expression plasmid containing the cDNA integrated thereinto; a host cell transformed with plasmid; an antibody against the polypeptide; and a pharmaceutical composition containing the polypeptide or the antibody.
