<p>A retaining system for retaining an end of a longitudinally extending electrical cable within an electrical connector housing is disclosed, the housing having an open end for receiving the electrical cable and an opening in a wall of the housing. The retaining system comprises a sleeve arrangement having a laterally spaced pair of longitudinal arms, the arms each having an inner surface for gripping opposite sides of the cable, an outer surface for slidably engaging an inner surface of the connector housing, and a locating recess adapted to be in registration with the opening when the sleeve arrangement is received in the connector housing. The retaining system also comprises a bridging element for insertion into the opening and having a pair of transverse arms each adapted to engage a respective locating recess in the longitudinal arms of the sleeve arrangement.</p> |
