FLOW NOZZLE FOR INJECTION MOLDING

A flow nozzle (10) designed to convey plastic melt from the injection unit o f a molding machine to a mold cavity. The flow nozzle (10) includes a nozzle body (12) having a central plastic me lt passageway (18), with a recess (22) at an outermost end to receive a tip member (24). Positioned around the tip member (24) and the recess (22) of the nozzle body (12) is a seal member (40) made from a deformable material. A compression cap (42) is threadedly carried on the outer most end of the nozzle body (12) and is tightened on the nozzle body (12) to force the seal member (40) again st the tip member (24) and the nozzle body recess (22) to provide a seal therebetween.
