Air purification device, uses fan to draw air through outer container with filler material and inner container with plant roots and soil

An inner container (2) which contains a plant growing in a cultivation medium (15) nests inside an outer container (1) containing a filler material (7). An air collector (8) in between the two containers has a fan (10) for drawing ambient air in through openings (6) in the bottom of the outer container and out through an air distributor (14) located in the cultivation medium inside the inner container. An air purification device comprises an inner container such as a plant pot nesting inside an outer container such as a plant pot and resting on top of a filler material inside the outer container. An air collector located in the region between the two containers has a fan for drawing ambient air through openings in the bottom of the outer container so that it flows through the filler material before exiting through openings in an air distributor located in a cultivation medium inside the inner container. Air is purified by the soil and plant roots in the inner container before leaving the latter. The air distributor is connected to the collector. An airtight seal (3) is provided between the two containers. The fan is driven by a battery (17) housed inside the collector and powered by a photovoltaic cell (18). A filter (5) containing air inlets (4) is placed over the air inlet openings in the base of the outer container.
