In a device having an audio output, a range of audio output level in the normal use state is set. When a setting modification operation to a volume exceeding the audio output level range which has been set is to be performed, it is checked whether the volume setting modification operation is appropriate. That is, only when a response is obtained within a predetermined time, the volume setting is modified. Thus, it is possible to prevent output of a volume from a TV, an audio device, or the like, greater than necessary. |
