Hypoglycaemic peptides and methods of use thereof

Disclosed are peptides of the formula (Xaa)n1-Xaa1-His-Thr-Asp-(Xaa)n2 wherein Xaa is any amino acid; Xaa1 is a hydrophobic amino acid, preferably Gly or Val; n1 is 0-10; and n2 is 0-10. Further disclosed is: the use thereof in the manufacture of a medicament for regulating in vivo blood glucose levels, particularly in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes; and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the peptides of the above formula.
