Disclosed herein is a use of one or more epothilones or epothilone analogs of formula (Ia) or (Ib) for the manufacture of a medicament for increasing the bioavailability of orally administered epothilones or epothilone analogs, wherein the variables are as defined in the specification. Pharmaceutical compositions, pharmaceutical dosage forms, and kits for increasing the bioavailability of orally administered epothilones or epothilone analogs are also disclosed.
