PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color signal generator capable of suppressing the generation of a false color or the deterioration of image quality, e.g. white coming-off or a darkish image caused by from the false color. SOLUTION: A first color component value corresponding to a color different from that of a remarked pixel is operated based on a color component value corresponding to a pixel provided in the vicinity of the remarked pixel and corresponding to the same color as that corresponding to the remarked pixel, and a color component value corresponding to a pixel provided in the vicinity of the remarked pixel and corresponding to a color different from that corresponding to the remarked pixel. Furthermore, a second color component value corresponding to the different color is operated based on the color component value corresponding to a pixel provided in the vicinity of the remarked pixel and corresponding to the color different from that corresponding to the remarked pixel. Either of the first color component value or the second color component value is selected as the color component value corresponding to the color different from that corresponding to the remarked pixel.
