PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element arrangement method for an omnidirectional antenna and the omnidirectional antenna which can be used over a wide frequency band, has a directivity gain with a small frequency characteristic, easily suppresses spurious radiation, and has nearly equal vertical directivity in the circumferential direction. SOLUTION: In the element arrangement method for the omnidirectional antenna 1 configured with a plurality of dipole antenna elements 7a to 7p, antenna element arrays 7x, 7y are formed by arranging the plurality of dipole antenna elements 7a to 7p by two columns in the length direction, a feeding point 12 is provided to the center of the antenna element arrays 7x, 7y and feeders 4A to 4G, 4a to 4x are connected from the feeding point 12 to the dipole antenna elements 7a to 7p of each column opposed to each other in the length direction and in the antenna element array width direction so that the dipole antenna elements 7a to 7p are excited in the same phase and by the same amplitude.
