POLYIMIDE MEMBRANES

A process for treating a polyimide comprising the steps of: (a) exposing the polyimide to a cross-linking agent comprising one or more amine groups, said exposing being undertaken for a period of time to form a cross-linked polyamide from at least a portion of said polyimide; and (b) maintaining the cross-linked polyamide at a selected temperature to form cross-linked polyimide from at least a portion of said cross-linked polyamide.
