A forming plate and a driver plate are held in a superposed manner at the front part of the path for supplying connected staples. A squared C-shaped staple formed into a size that can enter into a drive-out path, formed between the front end surface of the supply path and the rear surface of a face plate placed in front of the supply path, is driven out by a pusher that is spring urged toward the faceplate, and thereby the staple is pressed and supplied into the drive-out path. The staple is then driven out by the driver plate. The pusher is a first pusher, and a second pusher for pressing the legs of the staple toward the face plate is placed next to the first pusher, on the staple drive-out opening side of the first pusher.
