<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a calibration based on an evaluation result obtained by visually evaluating a test chart and a reference chart so that a difference between output images due to a change over time in a state of an internal mechanism cannot be made in an image output apparatus such as a color printer. <P>SOLUTION: This image output apparatus 1 comprises a calibration performance determination part 11, a calibration function part 12 and an image output apparatus part 13. The image output apparatus 1 has an image output means (e.g. a laser-beam printer) for performing normal printing and also outputting the test chart for the calibration, and an image output means (e.g. an inkjet printer) for outputting the reference chart for the calibration, which is stable in evaluation items such as graininess, gradation properties and color reproducibility. The image output apparatus performs visual evaluation for the prescribed evaluation items by using the test chart and the reference chart, and determines whether the calibration is performed or not by inputting the evaluation result into the image output apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
