<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material for a lithium-ion secondary battery which exhibits good high-rate discharge characteristics and ensures high safety at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing for negative electrode materials for lithium secondary battery comprises the following steps: forming a carbon coating layer 4 on the surface of a primary particle 2 that is made of carbon and has an average particle size of 0.1-20 μm, and forming secondary particles having an average particle size of 2.5-40 μm by combining the primary particles 2 with each other through the carbon coating layer 4. In this negative electrode material, preferably the primary particles 2 is made of crystalline carbon,<SP>7</SP>Li-NMR spectrum of the fully charged negative electrode material has one signal at 10 to 20 ppm at the LiCl aqueous solution standard, 002 lattice constant measured by an XRD method of the primary particles 2 is 0.68 to 0.70 nm, and the carbon of the primary particles 2 is anisotropy optically. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
