PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection net solving such a problem that pinholes are sometimes made because of friction by a tray and a retort container, breakage, stab or the like in a retort-food sterilization process comprising boiling sterilization, retort sterilization and steaming sterilization so as to easily reduce the pinholes while using the existing equipment and the existing container. SOLUTION: The protection net is set between the tray and the retort container so as to prevent generation of the pinholes when retorting food in the retort-food sterilization process. The protection net is made of at least one kind of knotless net or Russel net comprising polyester, nylon or vinylon, preferably comprising only the polyester. One side of the mesh of the net is 5-20 mm, preferably 10-15 mm. When the net comprises polyester, total fineness of twisted thread is 8,000-20,000 dT, preferably 9,000-15,000 dT.
