PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic bearing which can operate by non-contact method using a powerful permanent magnet. SOLUTION: A radial magnet bearing 10 has an inner ball race 11 and an outer ball race 13. The inner ball race 11 has an annular permanent magnet 12 mounted on the outer circumferential surface, and the outer ball race 13 has an annular permanent magnet 14 mounted on the inner circumferential surface. A pair of permanent magnets 12 and 14 facing to each other have a powerful magnet and the same pole face. Both magnets are disposed at a minimum gap G and allows the inner ball race 11 and outer ball race 13 to rotate by non-contact method by the repulsive force between them. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
