<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transmission system and a traffic transition method capable of preventing deterioration in communication quality by preventing a packet loss. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of traffic transition between paths of different properties, an ingress node 1 places an end message 12 at the end of a transition path, and an ingress node 2 processes a packet arrived at the transition path after receiving the end message 12 on the transition path.
