PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sensitivity for velocity modulation with simple structure, while suppressing the increase of driving power. SOLUTION: A pair of velocity modulation coils 52a and 52b are arranged interposing a horizontal plane including a tube axis. A pair of magnetic components 54a and 54b are arranged interposing a vertical plane including a tube axis. Linear parts 53a, disposed extending almost parallel to the axis, of the velocity modulation coil are arranged between the magnetic components and a tube axis. The distance D between the magnetic component and the linear part is 1 to 3mm. The center position of a pair of magnetic components in the tube direction is set in between Z=0.2×L to 0.9×L, when the tube axis is set in Z axis, the size in the tube axis direction of the velocity modulation coil is set L, and the position of the anti phosphor screen side edge of the velocity modulation coil in a tube direction is set Z=0.
