PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audit trail recording method and an audit trail recording apparatus capable of easily searching an audit trail data while restraining a recording medium cost. SOLUTION: Ten sheets of optical disks 20 assigned for the lowest one digit 'n' (n=0-9) of a patient ID respectively are prepared. When there is an access to the personal information of a patient via a terminal unit 3, the relevant access history is recorded on the optical disk 20 corresponding to the lowest one digit 'n' of the patient ID of the access target. To search for the access history using the patient as a search key, it is sufficient to search only the optical disk corresponding to the 'n' of the patient, and thus, the search time can be shortened. It may also be possible to distinguish the optical disks 20 which are recording destinations based on the month of birth and/or the distinction of sex of the patient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
