PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus in which a display data writing process of display data can be reduced on scrolling the display data in a display unit. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with: a frame data storage means which stores display data to be displayed by a display means displaying the display data and which is set in a display data capacity larger than the display data capacity of the display means; an external information processing means which writes display data preliminarily stored in a display data storage means in the frame data storage means, a display data read-out means which sequentially reads out display data of a display data capacity necessary for the display means from the display data stored in the frame data storage means and which outputs the data to the display means; and a write address control means which controls addresses by setting an address next to the address where the last writing is finished in the frame data storage means as a start address for writing when the display data are to be written in the frame data storage means by the information processing means.
