PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem in measuring allophone generating from a flat display panel under different air pressure conditions. SOLUTION: Under air pressure conditions at low ground and that at high ground, measurement of allophone generating from discharge space during driving PDP 10 is conducted. The correlation between the sound pressure level of the allophone measured under an air pressure condition at low ground and the sound pressure level of the allophone measured under an air pressure condition at high ground is obtained in advance. Based on the obtained correlation, the sound pressure level of the allophone generating from the discharge space of the PDP10 under the air pressure condition at high ground is calculated from the sound pressure level of the allophone generating from the discharge space of the PDP10 measured under the air pressure condition at low ground.
