<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a control range of an output voltage and acquire the favorable output voltage with less distortion. <P>SOLUTION: A series arm of U and X, a series arm of V and Y, a series arm of W and Z and a capacitor 3 are connected in parallel. Since the series arm of U and X on the input side and the series arm of W and Z on the output side are PWM-controlled, and the series arm of W and Z are controlled at a voltage lower than the series arm U and X; a voltage-drop operation and a voltage boosting operation contrary to the voltage-drop operation can be implemented.
