摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly precise question answering system using a method for retrieving a document with high precision without dividing the document. SOLUTION: A question sentence input part 41 inputs a question sentence and a solution expression prediction part 42 predicts solution expression from the question sentence. A keyword expression part 43 extracts a plurality of keywords (keyword sets) from the question sentence. A document retrieval part 44 assumes an area in the document acquired from a document DB 2, generates a keyword subset with the keyword extracted from the keyword set, generates a keyword appearance pattern (pattern) based on the keyword of the keyword subset which appears in the area and calculates appearance probability of a pattern which appears in the area based on each appearance probability of keywords for each document. In addition, the minimum value is determined among the appearance probability of the pattern calculated in the document, an evaluation score of the document is calculated and the predetermined number of documents with successful evaluation score are extracted from a group of documents. A solution extraction part 45 extracts a phrase which suits the solution expression from the document and an answer output part 46 outputs its solution as an answer to the question sentence.
