<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type hot water supply apparatus allowing further improvement of energy efficiency, in the miniaturized hot water supply apparatus using hot water supply by operation of the heat pump apparatus and hot water supply from a hot water storage tank together in use of hot water. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 100 stores high-temperature hot water boiled by a heat pump apparatus 2 in an upper part of the hot water storage tank 1 in the middle of the night, stores intermediate-temperature hot water boiled by the heat pump apparatus 2 in an intermediate part inside the hot water storage tank 1 in the daytime, and supplies hot water from the intermediate-temperature hot water of the intermediate part when supplying hot water from the hot water storage tank 1 in use of the hot water.
