PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film that has a low oligomer content, precipitates a small amount of oligomer on the surface of a coated layer even in application of a coating agent containing an organic solvent, etc., to the surface of the film, causes no reduction in transparency even in treatment at a high temperature for many hours and has excellent film processability. SOLUTION: The polyester film is a film obtained by melt extrusion of a polyester containing substantially no antimony element and has≤0.7 wt.% oligomer amount in the film based on the film weight and≤5.0 mg/m<SP>2</SP>oligomer amount on the surface of the film measured by coating the film with methyl ethyl ketone, drying it and heat-treating the film at 180°C for 10 minutes.
