<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and device capable of performing appropriate correction of a photographed image without spoiling a grade of a central object included in the photographed image. <P>SOLUTION: The image including the object picked up by an imaging apparatus is acquired and a skin area of the object is extracted from the image. Next, luminance data of the skin area are analyzed and whether or not the object is photographed at an oblique lighting state is determined based on its analysis result. Then, a correction target value in the case of correcting the image is changed based on a degree of the determined oblique lighting state of the image and the acquired image is corrected according to the changed correction target value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
