PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To image a specified subject always in an optimum state without being affected by the position or direction of the subject when the subject is imaged by using an imaging device installed in a cabin.
SOLUTION: A plurality of floodlights for irradiating a driver from above, below, right, or left or from a plurality of directions are provided in front of the driver's seat of an automobile, and irradiation intensities of light beams from the respective floodlights are controlled with a basic controlled variable set corresponding to the illuminance in the cabin (110 to 160). The position of the driver and the direction of the face are recognized from a picked-up image of the driver obtained by the imaging device and the basic controlled variable is corrected based upon the recognition results to adjust the radiation intensities of the light beams from the respective floodlights and the output balance among the floodlights (180 to 220). Changes of the illuminance in the cabin and the recognition results are monitored thereafter and when the illuminance or recognition results change, a correction coefficient for the basic controlled variable is updated corresponding thereto (230 to 290).
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
