PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin derived from a natural product and having excellent moisturizing effect and aging-retarding effect.

SOLUTION: The present invention provides an external preparation for skin containing a mung bean protein decomposition product. The ratio of dipeptide or tripeptide in total peptide of the mung bean protein decomposition product is preferably ≥10%, more preferably ≥50%. The mung bean protein decomposition product is further preferably obtained by hydrolyzing a protein derived from mung bean with a protease. The external preparation for skin is preferably a cosmetic.
