<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety and effective carcinogenesis prophylactic agent in relation to the carcinogenesis prophylactic agent comprising a triterpentene based compound. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the carcinogenesis prophylactic agent comprising an extract or a cucurbitane-type triterpene obtained from a fruit, a stalk, a leaf or a root of Momordica charantia L.
