PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paste with low viscosity which has good movement of a blade with good fluidity, and has an excellent form preservability despite of small elasticity when a rib-like object is formed, and is superior in smoothness of the crown part of the rib-like object after molding, its manufacturing method, a back panel, a display module, and a plasma display panel having no erroneous discharge between the adjoining cells at the time of emission, and a quality control method of paste in which lot management is carried out precisely by a simple and rapid method. SOLUTION: The paste includes glass powder or glass ceramic mixture powder, a resin, a solvent, and an inorganic thixotropic agent, and the modulus of elasticity of the paste is 3.5×10<SP>4</SP>-1×10<SP>5</SP>Pa. Using the modulus of elasticity of the paste as an index, the shape of ceramic rib is estimated to make a lot management. The manufacturing method includes a process A in which the glass powder or glass ceramic mixture powder, the resin, and the solvent are stirred, mixed and kneaded, and a process B in which a gel solution containing an organic thixotropic agent is further added to the kneaded object obtained by the process A and mixed, stirred, and kneaded.
