PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a pattern coating film fundamentally reduced in unevenness and having excellent designedness not obtained heretofore by coating using a roller. SOLUTION: This method for forming the pattern coating film comprises a step for forming an irregular and discontinuous pattern on the surface of a base material precoated with undercoating by bringing the flocked coating roller, which has an uneven surface impregnated with topcoating having a hue different from that of the undercoating, into contact with the surface of the base material to tumble the same.
