PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing device which can obtain sufficient killing effect on aquatic organisms and bacteria without harmful effect caused by using chemicals. SOLUTION: This sterilizing device comprises a treatment chamber 5 through which raw water to be treated flows at a prescribed speed, a first front chamber 4a and a second front chamber 4b which are bubble removal means disposed on the upstream side of the treatment chamber 5 for removing bubbles in the raw water to be treated, introduced into the treatment chamber 5, and a convergent detonation wave generator 2 which is an impact water pressure generator for generating impact water pressure in the raw water to be treated, flowing through the treatment chamber to kill the aquatic organisms and bacteria in the raw water to be treated.
