PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus which can change the direction of the visual field in a large range and does not cause a deterioration of optical characteristics, such as blurring to one side, flare, aberration or the like. SOLUTION: The endoscope apparatus comprises an object lens 35 mounted on the distal end of an endoscope, a prism 36 arranged at the back of the optical axis of the object lens, a solid image element 37 arranged at the back of the optical axis of the prism, a visual field direction adjusting member 41 made of a hard member inserted through an insertion section of the endoscope movably in the longitudinal direction of the endoscope, and an observation unit 33 integrally holding the object lens, the prism and the solid image element and turns in accordance with the movement of the visual field direction adjusting member in the longitudinal axis direction of the endoscope.
