<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion containing Pigment Violet 19 which can be efficiently prepared in a short time, is excellent in properties such as light resistance, color definition, liquid stability and pigment particle size-stability, and particularly can suitably be used for ink-jet ink, and to provide an ink-jet ink using the same, an ink cartridge, an image-formed article and a method for forming the image. <P>SOLUTION: The pigment dispersion contains at least water, Pigment Violet 19, and a nonionic surfactant. The ink-jet ink is prepared by mixing the pigment dispersion with at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a water-soluble organic solvent, a surfactant, a preservative and a fungicide. The ink cartridge contains the ink. The image-formed article has a receptor in which images are formed.
