<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely shut off electric power to a heat source while preventing malfunction due to noise or the like having a possibility of its being included in a commercial power source during the occurrence of an earthquake. <P>SOLUTION: A vibration sensing device 40 outputs a reset signal by a reset part 74 by switching on the main switch of an image forming apparatus, and switches on a switching element 36 by resetting a latch circuit 66. Consequently, a relay 34 is operated to supply alternating current power to a fixing heater. In addition, when the sphere body 52 of a seismoscope 42 is moved by vibration of the earthquake or the like to conduct a bottom plate 48 and a conductive band 56 and a sensing signal DS output from a sensor 44 is changed, the latch circuit switches off the switching element 36 and holds an off state.
