<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine capable of enlarging an executable region of filter regeneration onto the low load side compared with conventional ones. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device 1 applied to a diesel engine equipped with a turbocharger 10, comprises a prior stage oxidation catalyst 13 provided downstream of a turbine 10b of the turbocharger 10; a post-stage oxidation catalyst 14 provided downstream of the prior stage oxidation catalyst 13; a particulate filter 15 provided downstream of the post-stage oxidation catalyst 14; and an injector 5 for supplying fuel required for filter regeneration of oxidizing to eliminate particulates accumulated on the particulate filter 15.
