<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna for a reader writer and an article management system for reading information of an IC tag, regardless of the direction of the IC tag attached to the article. <P>SOLUTION: In the article management system 10, an article stored in a management shelf 11 is managed by using an IC tag 31 and a reader writer 100 for communicating with the IC tag 31. A reader writer antenna 9 is assembled in a rear face plate 14 of the management shelf 11 so that radio communication with the IC tag 31 can be carried out.
