PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide film information reading technique for achieving reliable and rapid barcode reading even when a photograph film is carried in meandering when reading the film information.

SOLUTION: A film information reading device comprises a detection window setting part 42 for setting a detection window which has a prescribed length with respect to image data developed in a memory 40 and whose width is narrower than a barcode width; a barcode pattern determining part 43 for determining whether an image data part in the detection window indicates a barcode pattern or not; a detection window horizontal shift part 42b for horizontally shifting the detection window; and a barcode decoding part 44 for decoding the barcode through the use of the image data part when the image data part in the detection window indicates the barcode pattern.
