PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine suitability of a refrigerant amount filled in a refrigerant circuit in an air conditioner wherein a heat source unit and a utilization unit are connected via a refrigerant communication pipe. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner 1, the heat source unit 2 having a compressor 21, and a heat source side heat exchanger 23 is connected to the utilization units 4 and 5 having utilization side expansion valves 41 and 51, and utilization side heat exchangers 42 and 52 via the refrigerant communication pipies 6 and 7. Operation can be carried out changing between a normal operation mode carrying out control of each apparatus in response to operation loads of the utilization units 4 and 5, and a refrigerant amount determination operation mode controlling operation capacity of the compressor 21 such that evaporating pressures of the utilization side heat exchangers 42 and 52 are constant while carrying out cooling operation of the utilization units 4 and 5, and controlling the utilization side expansion valves 41 and 51 such that degrees of superheating of utilization side heat exchanger 42 and 52 outlets become positive values. In the refrigerant amount determination operation mode, the suitability of the refrigerant amount filled in the refrigerant circuit 10 can be determined by detecting a degree of supercooling of a heat source side heat exchanger 23 outlet.
