PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic solution for an electric double layer capacitor which has a large conductivity, a low internal resistance, and a high capacitance. SOLUTION: An electrolyte salt having spiro-structure expressed by formula (1) (wherein n being an integer of 3 to 5) is dissolved in a mixture solvent containing ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate. The resultant electrolytic solution has high characteristics of an electric conductivity of 15 mS/cm or higher and a high dielectric voltage of 4.5 volts or higher. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
