PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical disk device capable of recording and reproducing information in an optical disk medium, suited to high-speed recording where signal transmission is difficult, optimal for an average value system and a sample-hold system, and capable of dealing with high-speed recording in various optical disks. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a multiple-divided photoelectric conversion element 6 to detect a reflected light from an optical disk 1 during information recording, an I-V converter circuit 8 for applying voltage conversion to a signal from the photoelectric conversion element 6 to output it, and a band switching means for switching the transmission band of the output signal from the photoelectric conversion element 6 in the I-V conversion circuit 8. The device switches signal transmission characteristics through the band switching means according to a signal processing system such as an average value method or a sample-hold system in a sample-hold circuit 9 or the like behind the I-V conversion circuit 8.
