PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent copying of a digital information signal in an original CD. SOLUTION: When the input data word of p bits is converted into a code word of q bits, the connection bit of r bits is added between adjacent code words to generate a code word string, and the code word string is recorded in a recording medium such as an optical disk, especially copy preventing effect is added by using TOC information recorded in the lead-in area of an original CD 10. When an input data word is music information, the music information and inaudible specific data are added together to code them. When a decided code word string having a small DCV value is obtained to be recorded in the original CD 10, the specific data is inserted into the music section of the music information or a silence interval formed between pieces of music.
