PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect an error signal at a low cost without requiring a tilt sensor as an additional parts in an error signal detecting device used for an optical disk recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: A signal without tilt is stored on the basis of a light quantity signal received by the T region of a light receiving element 20 having the T region formed circularily at a center part and A, B, C, D regions formed by dividing a part other than the T region into four parts, this signal is compared with a light quantity signal at the time of recording/reproducing of the optical disk and tilt is detected, and outputted as an error signal.
