PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of abnormality determination in a heat exchange system using a liquid as heat medium. SOLUTION: The heat exchange system for heating a liquid (water W) by a heat exchanger 24 and circulating the liquid to a radiation load to radiate the heat thereof comprises a tank (open tank 18) connected to passages (circulation passages 12, 14 and 16) for circulating the liquid to store the liquid; a liquid level detection means (water level sensor 42) detecting the level of the liquid in the tank; a pump (circulating pump 20) for circulating the liquid to the heat exchanger and the radiation load through the passages; a supply means (supply valve 38) for supplying the liquid to the passages or the tank; and a control means (control part 10) keeping the level within the tank in a predetermined range by making the supply means supply the liquid according to the level detected by the liquid level detection means, and generating, in a case that a detected level reaches an abnormal level, and this level is detected after driving the pump to circulate the liquid to the passages, an output showing abnormality.
